Another Place to Call Home
When Evgeiny Bekker and his family moved from the Ukraine to Israel he felt out of place.
He did not know any Hebrew and was not allowed to share his beliefs with anyone unless they asked.
He again felt out of place when he got moved from Israel to Idaho. Not only were the climates completely different, the culture was not what he had expected at all.
However he quickly learned that it was far easier for him to make friends at BYU-Idaho. He felt the tolerance of his peers and their desire to include him in their activities.
He was no longer a silent figure in the background. He was another piece to the colorful mosaic that is BYU-Idaho.
He looks forward to the day when he can return that love and inclusion to his home in Israel and build others the way he was built up at school.
