As the internet has already told you, Robert Pattinson is cast as the new Batman.
As a die hard Batman fan, I'm actually not upset about this. Pattinson, aside from his awkward phase in the "Twilight" saga is actually an extremely talented actor. If you want some confirmation, please watch the video below.
No, it's not the fact that they cast Pattinson. I learned my lesson about judging actors after seeing Ben Affleck play my favorite variation of Batman in "Batman v Superman" as well as seeing Chris Pratt give us an amazing "Star Lord" in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies.
My issue is they're making ANOTHER BATMAN MOVIE.
Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam! were all amazing movies that did a great job bringing to life some of the most iconic heroes in the DC comic universe. Why not keep going with that? We've seen Batman. We know the Dark Knight. We've been captivated by the Caped Crusader. Don't you thing it's time we gave someone else a shot?
Give us a hero we either haven't seen or have barely seen. Just off the top of my head I think it would be great if they made movies for The Flash, Zantana and a Blue Beetle. Don't know who they are? Exactly.
It's no wonder the DCEU can't keep up with all the Marvel films. Thanks to Disney, Marvel is a well oiled machine that deserves the success it has received. The DCEU on the other hand was starting to get some momentum and with their past three successes and now they are starting all over by beating the dead horse that is The Batman movie.
Unless this is kicking off some 10 year plan to connect a bunch of DC movies that will blow us all away at the end and break box office records, I really feel like WB is wasting their time with this movie.
This has nothing to do with Pattinson and everything to do with the goofy business leadership with WB.
